These guidelines outline the expectations, responsibilities, and editorial process for authors contributing to the One Health Society. By submitting content, you agree to these terms.

 

1. Eligibility

To be considered for author status, you must:

Authors may submit content in the following formats:

  • Opinion editorials
  • Case studies
  • Research summaries or briefs (non-peer-reviewed)
  • Practice-based reflections or field reports
  • Interviews or Q&A pieces
  • Educational explainers on One Health-related topics

All content must align with the mission and scope of the One Health Society: advancing health through human, animal, and environmental integration.

 

3. Content Requirements

All submissions must:

  • Be original, written by you (AI-assisted content must be disclosed and substantively edited)
  • Be unpublished elsewhere, unless previously agreed upon with the Editorial Team
  • Be clear, respectful, and professional in tone
  • Cite all sources, data, and references using the Harvard referencing style with endnotes
  • Include links to primary sources where available (e.g., peer-reviewed studies, official datasets)
  • Avoid promotional, political, or discriminatory content
  • Follow the recommended word count of 600–1,500 words, unless otherwise discussed.

Authors are required to include a full reference list at the end of the article.

 

4. Editorial Review Process

  • All submissions are reviewed by the Editorial Team
  • Edits may be made for clarity, structure, and alignment with OHS standards
  • Authors will be notified of changes and must approve edits before publication
  • The Editorial Team reserves the right to reject submissions or request revisions.

 

5. Author Rights & License

  • You retain copyright of your original work
  • By submitting, you grant One Health Society a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to publish and promote your content on its platform and channels
  • You may republish your article elsewhere 30 days after initial publication, with credit to One Health Society as the original publisher.

 

6. Conduct & Representation

As an Author, you are expected to:

  • Represent the Society respectfully and in alignment with its values
  • Avoid conflicts of interest or disclose them when submitting
  • Refrain from submitting plagiarized, harmful, or misleading content
  • Respond to editorial inquiries in a timely manner.

 

7. Revocation of Author Status

Author status may be suspended or revoked for:

  • Repeated violation of these guidelines
  • Inactivity (no submissions for 12 months)
  • Behavior or content that harms the Society’s credibility or community.

 

8. Updates to Terms

These guidelines may be updated periodically. Continued participation as an Author implies acceptance of the most recent version.
